RATIONAL DRUG USE STATUS OF STUDENTS AT A UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Objective: Irrational drug use is a significant global and public health issue, including in Turkey Turk. This study aims to assess the knowledge attitudes of students toward rational . Methods: The population comprised 1909 enrolled Bakırçay University's 2019-2020 academic year. sample size was 780 selected through stratified random sampling from each faculty. Data were collected using "Rational Drug Use Form," which included demographic characteristics, background, behaviors, Rational Scale. data analyzed SPSS 23.0, p-value <0.05 considered statistically significant. Results: Of students, 74.4% female, 42.3% male, with mean age 19.9. 28.2% self-medicated before consulting doctor when sick, 57.6% used medication for headaches without doctor. Additionally, 73.6% them primarily over-the-counter painkillers. Based on Scale score ≥35, cut-off point literature, 491 (73.3%) knew about Conclusion: students' found be above average.
